Description
There are moments when life becomes too intense to fit within a recognisable form. Vortex does not represent that state: it is that state. The crimson mass — material, oscillating, dense as a magnetic field — occupies the centre of the composition with the conviction of the inevitable. And gold hurls itself over it in chaotic spirals: not as ornament, but as testament to an energy that cannot be contained.
The work enters into dialogue with the tradition of American abstract expressionism — Kline, de Kooning — but its language is more visceral, less philosophical, more immediate. There is no critical distance here: only collision.
The black ground is not absence: it is the space in which intensity becomes legible.
