Description
Every sacred architecture in the world — medieval cathedrals, Japanese torii, the gates of Hindu temples, Roman triumphal arches — shares a function that transcends the structural: marking the passage between two states. The profane and the sacred. The exterior and the interior. Who you were and who you will be.
AGNI takes that form — the arch, the portal, the threshold — and paints it with expressionist gesture that permits neither elegance nor contemplative distance. The strokes are urgent, almost violent. The arch is not a serene invitation: it is a demand. And through it, fire. Orange and red at maximum intensity, contrasting with the surrounding absolute black in a way that is physically disturbing.
No figure. No traveller. Only the threshold and the decision it implies. The work does not depict the crossing: it depicts the instant before it, when everything is still possible and nothing is yet reversible.
For collectors who understand that aesthetic discomfort is one of the most honest forms of artistic presence.
