Description
In Jungian tradition, the archetype does not represent any individual. It represents the essential form all individuals share. The mother. The hero. The shadow. The self. They are invisible moulds that shape human experience long before consciousness names them.
KA invokes the archetype of presence in its purest state: a human silhouette — barely recognisable, on the verge of dissolving into the surrounding black — standing before a ground of intense cobalt blue. No face. No gesture. No story. Only the vertical form of a being that is there, that exists, that occupies a place in the world before becoming someone.
The expressionist gesture that builds the silhouette makes it simultaneously urgent and evanescent. As if the figure were emerging from the blue or sinking into it — or both at once — and that ambiguity is precisely the point.
A work for those who understand that the most powerful pieces of art do not depict people. They depict possibilities.
