BONSAI —Tamed Time
Fine Art Collection in Chinese Ink & Giclée Print — Limited Edition
The Bonsai collection explores how time can be tamed without being destroyed. Each work takes as its starting point the real structure of a tree cultivated over years — sometimes decades — and translates it into the language of Chinese ink and watercolour on museum-quality fine art paper.
The philosophy
A bonsai is not a small tree. It is a tree that has learned to concentrate itself.
The practice of bonsai is also the practice of conscious renunciation: each cut decides what remains and what disappears, which direction life takes and which is abandoned. The result is not miniature but essence — the architecture of time made visible in wood, bark and silence.
This collection works with that same logic. Ink builds the structure: trunk, tension, direction of growth. Watercolour introduces atmosphere — the light that filters through branches, the air that makes the form breathe. Negative space organises silence and gives the eye somewhere to rest.
The compositions favour the asymmetrical balance of wabi-sabi aesthetics: imperfection as a form of authenticity, asymmetry as a sign of life. They do not aim to depict miniature trees, but to reveal the discipline that has shaped them across time.
Chromatic intervention is controlled and deliberate. Metallic accents, where present, are not decoration — they are contained points of light, glimpses of the living matter within each form.
Nine species. Nine ways of understanding permanence.
Works in the Collection
Each piece in the Bonsai collection takes its name from the species that inspired it. The nine works share a visual language but each carries its own character: the austere verticality of the Juniperus, the contained explosion of the Wisteria in bloom, the visible age written into every groove of the Ulmus Parvifolia.
Museum Quality. Built to Last Centuries
Every work in the Bonsai collection is produced to the same technical standards as the limited editions of leading contemporary art galleries. The support, inks and printing process are selected to ensure the work is, above all, built to endure.
Limited numbered edition
Each print is part of a strictly limited run. The work includes a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity. Once an edition is sold out, it is permanently closed — no exceptions.
Giclée fine art print
Precision printing technology using 12 high-density pigment inks. The extended colour gamut captures the full depth of Chinese ink blacks, the atmospheric greys of watercolour washes, and the metallic accents that run through select pieces.
Museum quality paper
308 g/m² acid-free paper with a matte finish and warm white tone. The same substrate used in museum archives and institutional collections. Resistance to yellowing exceeding 100 years under standard conservation conditions. The paper's texture interacts with the image and adds a tactile dimension that no screen can replicate.
High tonal fidelity
Produced in specialist workshops across the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. International shipping in protective artwork packaging. Delivery time: 5-10 business days depending on destination.
Production under archival standards
40 × 50 cm · 60 × 80 cm · 70 × 100 cm Available framed or unframed. Slim black high-end frame available.
A Closed Edition. No Reprints. Ever
The Bonsai collection is a closed series of nine works. Each run is strictly limited: when a work sells out, it disappears permanently.
A bonsai’s time is measured in decades. Its edition’s time, in units.
If one of these pieces has found something in you, do not leave it waiting.
