Description
There are distances that are not measured in kilometers. That have no direction and no point of arrival. That exist between two people sitting at the same table, or within a single person who has long since lost track of where they are.
The distance without a name is the most minimal and most vast work in DERIVA. The figure — small, seen from behind, walking — occupies barely a fraction of the frame. Before her, a fog of charcoal and ink erases the ground, the horizon, any point of reference. There are no branches. No roots. No flowers. Only the figure and the open space that gradually erases her as she moves forward.
She is not fleeing. She is moving toward something that does not yet exist, or that perhaps never did.
The most cinematic piece in the series. The one that leaves the most space for the viewer to enter.
