Description
Every mythology knows the threshold. The place where here ends and there begins. The door. The river. The mountain. The crack in the rock through which oracles speak. The threshold is not a place of rest: it is the place of maximum tension, where the decision has not yet been made and everything remains possible.
RIMA reduces that symbol to its purest, most radical form: a vertical line — singular, decisive, cutting — that divides the composition from top to bottom. No transition. No gradient. On one side, absolute black: the weight of the known, the familiar, what we have been. On the other, almost phosphorescent emerald green: the unknown, the living, what could be.
The expressionist gesture that traces the edges of the crack is not uniform. It is alive, rough, urgent. As if the separation had truly occurred — as if something had broken or opened — and the painting records that exact instant.
To cross or not to cross. RIMA does not answer. It simply shows that the threshold exists.
