Description
Layers of text, stamps, stains and strokes overlap without clear hierarchy, as happens with real memory: chaotic, selective, imperfect. Identity here is not revealed or interpreted; is recomposed.
The frontal, open and direct look marks a fundamental difference compared to previous pieces. After the silence, the whisper and the inner reading, there is now presence. The subject does not hide or withdraw: he holds his gaze from a place crossed by experiences. There is no dramatic gesture; there is acceptance.
The typographic fragments embedded in the face function as documentary remains: data, dates, words that once had a precise meaning and that survive today as texture. They no longer matter because of what they say, but because of the fact that they were there. They are footprints, not messages.
The pictorial material becomes more intense. Rusty stains and deep blacks introduce a feeling of wear and tear, of accumulated time. Faced with this, the floral elements —more structured, almost ceremonial— emerge as symbols of continuity. They are not young shoots: they are shapes that return, again and again, adapting to the terrain.
In Memory Fragments, metamorphosis stops being an internal transit and becomes an assumed identity. It is not about purifying or ordering, but about living with superposition: the lived, the forgotten, the reinterpreted.
