Description
Greek oracles did not choose their words. They were the channel. The open mouth through which something deeper than individual consciousness found its way into the world. The Pythia at Delphi, Siberian shamans, the singers of Dionysian rites: in every tradition, the voice that comes from the depths is not the voice of the one who speaks. It is the voice of what is waiting to be said.
GALDR reduces that symbol to its most radical form. No face, no body, no context: only the open mouth — drawn with brutal expressionist strokes, almost like prehistoric graffiti — on absolute black. The interior is intense magenta. A colour that should not exist in the darkness, that erupts into it like a haemorrhage of light, as if the voice itself had temperature and colour.
There is no sound in the work. But there is something worse than sound: its imminence. The exact instant before the cry, when the whole body knows something is about to emerge but does not yet know what.
A collectible piece for those who know that the truest art always comes from the depths.
